Coldfoot is a celebratory expression from Westland Distillery, crafted to honor arctic explorer Børge Ousland’s 2011 North Pole trek from the Canadian side via “cold foot.” This whiskey captures the spirit of exploration through its bold, richly layered Pacific Northwest character.
Aged initially in American oak barrels, Coldfoot is then finished in Gulf Coast rum casks before returning to American oak. This unique process adds warmth and softness to its classic malt backbone.
Tasting Notes:

Palate: Soft and inviting—caramel-soaked malt, coconut cream, ripe stone fruits, and delicate spice, supported by a smooth rum influence
Finish: Clean and enduring, with mellow oak, dried fruit, gentle coconut, and warm spice
